Participation to the User Consultation Meeting
(Medspiration-6, Globcolour-3)
ESRIN, Frascati, Italy, 19-20 November 2008
The third GlobColour user consultation meeting was held
in Frascati (Italy), on November 19-20, 2008. The meeting
took place at ESRIN. A similar user consultation meeting
of another ESA-DUE project, called
"Medspiration"
and devoted to the delivery of harmonised sea-surface
temperatures derived from diverse satellites, was held
jointly with the GlobColour workshop.
Very positive user feedback was received and expressed
during the workshop.
Fruitful exchanges occurred between the Medspiration and
GlobColour community and with external participants being
part of the GlobColour user community (scientists,
but also end user organisations interested in the products
and near-real time service for activities such as new
primary production to monitor halieutic stocks, data
assimilation into local and global oceanographic models).
As demonstrated during the workshop, this user community
is growing fast, with 256 users registered in November
2008.
